android wallpaper

There are many ways to customize your Android device. One of the most popular is choosing the Android wallpaper that displays on your Home and Lock screens.

However, you may get bored looking at the same image all the time, even if it’s one you like. Today we’ll show you a few apps that allow you to automatically change the wallpaper on your Android device.

Automatically Change Android Wallpaper Using Wallpaper Changer

Wallpaper Changer is a popular app that allows you to automatically change the wallpaper based on several conditions.

To change the wallpaper after a certain amount of time, check the “Change wallpaper every” box and tap on the number of “minutes”. Use the keypad to enter a value in the box and then tap “Done“. Select “minutes“, “hours“, or “days” from the drop-down list to the right of the number box.

You can also automatically change the wallpaper when you unlock your device from the lock screen. To do this, tap the “Change wallpaper on lockscreen unlock” checkbox.

Change The Wallpaper Manually

To change the wallpaper manually, check the “Change wallpaper when double-tapping on home screen (Required live wallpaper mode)” box. We’ll show you how to turn on the live wallpaper mode later in this section.

Change wallpaper every 5 minutes

To choose the images that will be automatically set as your wallpaper, tap the “Albums” tab. Then, check the “default album” box and tap on the album box that currently reads “No images added“.

Tap the Album tab and then tap the default album check box

The green plus icon in the lower-right corner of the screen pictured above allows you to add more albums to the app. However, you must buy the Pro version of Wallpaper Changer to do that.

When you tap the plus icon, the following dialog box displays, asking you to buy the app.

Buy the Pro version of Wallpaper Changer

Using one album should be sufficient, though. Simply put all the images you want to use into one folder. If you want to add more images in the future, add them to that same folder.

Once you’ve tapped on the album box that currently reads “No images added“, you’ll see the following screen. Tap the green plus icon in the lower-right corner of the screen.

Tap the plus icon to add photos

Then, tap “Add folder” on the pop-up menu.

Tap Add Folder

Wallpaper Changer asks for permission to access photos, media, and files on your device. Tap “Allow” to give the app the permissions it needs.

Tap Allow to access photos

The albums from the Gallery app on your device are listed. Tap on the check box for the folder that contains the images you want to add to the album in Wallpaper Changer. Then, tap the back arrow in the upper-left corner of the screen.

Select the images folder and tap the back arrow

All the images from the selected folder display. If you don’t see them, tap the back arrow to go back to the previous screen. Then, tap the album box again to return to this screen.

Tap back arrow

You should also see the first image on the album box on the “Albums” tab. If not, tap the Apps button on your device. Then, tap the “X” on the “Wallpaper Changer” app thumbnail to close the app.

Closing Wallpaper Changer

Open the Wallpaper Changer app again and you should see the first image on the album box on the “Albums” tab.

Now, we need to enable the app’s live wallpaper. To do this, tap on the orange message bar.

Back on the “Change” tab, you can add more rules that determine when the wallpaper is changed. To do this, tap the plus icon in the lower-right corner of the screen.

The “Add rule” screen displays. To select the time of day you want the wallpaper to change, tap the “Time” option on the “Event” box. Then, tap the hour in the green pane and tap the hour you want on the clock in the white pane.

Do the same thing with the minutes on the green and white panes. Then, tap “AM” or “PM” and tap “OK“.

Select a time

Back on the “Add rule” screen, every day of the week is selected by default, indicated by the green circles on the days. To deselect a day, tap on it. The green circle on that day goes away. If you would rather have the wallpaper change when you change your location, tap the “Location” option on the “Event” box.

Changing & Removing Rules

To remove the rule, tap “Delete” in the upper-right corner of the screen.

Tap back arrow or Delete

The new rule displays in its own box on the “Change” tab.

Now, when you go back to your Home screen, one of the images in your selected folder displays as your wallpaper. It will change according to the options you set.

If you chose the “Change wallpaper when double-tapping on home screen (Required live wallpaper mode)” on the “Change” tab in Wallpaper Changer, you can double-tap on your Home screen to change the wallpaper.

Automatically Change The Wallpaper Using Muzei Live Wallpaper

Muzei Live Wallpaper is an app that displays a different famous work of art every day. If you’re not a fan of classic art, Muzei supports third-party extensions, or apps. These apps pull wallpapers from some of the internet’s best image sources, such as Flicker, National Geographic, and NASA’s Image of the Day.

Setting Up Muzei
