Google Pixel Buds Pro vs AirPods Pro: Which one wins!!

Google Pixel Buds Pro vs airpods pro. The Google Pixel Buds Pro go on sale Thursday for $199. CNBC’s Sofia Pitt has been testing them for the past several days. They’re similar to Apple’s AirPods Pro but slightly inferior. The Pixel Buds Pro have a lengthy battery life, but they’re hypersensitive to touch, which can get in the way of the user experience.

Google’s new $199 Pixel Buds Pro launch in stores Thursday. I’ve been testing them for the past several days, and I think they’re a good, cheaper alternative to Apple’s $249 AirPods Pro, with some similar features, but they’re slightly inferior. Google has been selling headphones for years and has recently leaned more into hardware with new phones that run on its own chips. But unlike Apple, which generates revenue from hardware and the services that run on it, Google is an advertising company. Hardware isn’t a big business. In the second quarter, for example, parent company Alphabet’s ad revenue accounted for $56.3 billion its $69.69 billion total.

What’s good

The Pixel Buds Pro are the first headphones from Google with noise-canceling technology, just like Apple’s AirPods Pro. The audio quality is first rate and almost on par with Apple’s AirPods Pro. When toggling between my AirPods Pro and Pixel Buds Pro while listening to the first minute of Billie Eilish’s “Ocean Eyes,” the bass seemed a little too loud on Google’s Buds, with the slightest hint of feedback.

Feature:

My phone, tablet, and computer all sounded great with the Pixel Buds Pro’s audio switching feature. I didn’t have to pair the earbuds with each device more than once after the initial setup, which was nice.

Nearly as good as the AirPods Pro in terms of noise cancellation is this pair of AirPods. When my editor asked me a question while I was listening to music, I was unable to hear him because of the headphones. I haven’t tried it on an aeroplane, but this noise-blocking feature is usually effective at reducing the hum of the engines. For those who frequently travel, this type of headphone is a must-have. As a result, the earbuds are more comfortable and users don’t feel like their ears are clogged, according to the company’s claims. That certainly applied to me.

USB-C Port

The earbud carrying case has a USB-C port for charging, you only need to carry one cord with you, making it more convenient. The case is compatible with wireless charging, like the AirPods Pro case. To charge it, all you have to do is place it on a wireless puck.

Discomfort

Wearing Pixel Buds Pro for hours didn’t cause any discomfort in my ears, unlike when I wear my AirPods Pro. Long-haul airline passengers would appreciate the assurance of such comfort.

Last-long

Noise-canceling technology allows for seven hours of listening time on one charge, which is longer than the AirPods Pro’s six hours of listening time on one charge. They can last up to 11 hours without using that technology. On a single charge, Apple’s AirPods Pro can last for over four and a half hours. For many people, that’s a big deal, and as a user of the AirPods, I was able to notice the difference.

Translator

Google Translate is integrated into the Pixel Buds Pro, allowing you to communicate with people who speak a different language. My Brazilian stepmom, whose first language is Portuguese, helped me test the real-time conversation mode.

In order to begin, I tapped “Conversation” in the Google Translate App on my Pixel 6a. Our conversation was nearly flawless after only a few minutes of chatting. What if I asked, “Would your family in Brazil use this feature?” To which my stepmom replied, “Yes. Is the price reasonable? Where can I get more information about the price?” A translation app on my phone interpreted the conversation for me, and I was able to hear her response in English via the Pixel Buds Pro.

Because it was both awkward and time consuming, I doubt I’d ever use this feature to ask for directions from someone unless I was in a dire situation. However, if I needed to ask a question about a product I was purchasing while abroad, it would be helpful. Color options for the Pixel Buds Pro include light green and black. I prefer the black ear tips to the white ones. Seeing the earwax buildup on white earbuds grosses me out, and I know I’m not alone.)

What’s wrong in Google Pixel Buds Pro vs airpods pro

These headphones are extremely sensitive to touch. If you touch the bud’s outer surface to pause a song, for example, it responds. If you’re walking and want to skip a song, you can do so with ease. So why did the podcast stop when the slightest movement of my head caused it to happen while I was resting my head on a pillow? Never before have my AirPods Pro performed as well as they did while I was sleeping.

  • I contacted Google to see if a fix was possible, but a representative wasn’t immediately available to comment.
  • The Pixel Buds Pro are also more difficult to track down if you misplace them compared to the AirPods. An Android phone is required to use Google’s headphones. However, even if your AirPods are no longer connected to your iPhone, the Find My app will still show you their last known location.
  • In addition, the audio quality was subpar. “You sound like you’re on speaker phone” is what my husband told me during a test call. My voice came across as distant, but he was able to hear me clearly.

We also experimented with FaceTime and video chats on WhatsApp. Because the Pixel Buds Pro didn’t fit as well as my AirPods Pro, I had to constantly adjust them in my ears. He was able to pick up on the unpleasant feedback I was making when I fidgeted. The Pixel Buds Pro come with three different rubber bud tips, which means that most people should be able to use them. However, none of them really suited my needs.

Is it worth it to buy Google Pixel Buds Pro vs airpods pro?

I prefer the AirPods Pro because they work just as well with Android devices as they do with iOS devices. The Pixel Buds Pro, on the other hand, are a great alternative if you’re on a budget. The Buds Pro are made simple to use by their long battery life and seamless transition between devices. While the sound quality is comparable to that of the Airpods Pro, their design is a little clunky.

FAQs:

Q1: Do buds outperform AirPods in terms of sound quality?

However, while both buds have two microphones, only the AirPods can better isolate the voice in a phone call. If you were talking to someone else and had AirPods in your ears, you could hear them much better. Winner: Galaxy Buds for sound quality, AirPods get points for call quality.

Q2: Is it worthwhile to purchase pixel buds?

These wireless earbuds are small and light, and they’re easy to use with your Android phone or tablet. For those who live in rainy areas or are athletes, the IPX4 rating makes this a good choice, and the microphone quality is quite good. It’s possible to find a similar-priced product that has fewer audio quirks, however.

Q3: Is the AirPods pro or the standard model better?

AirPods 3 and 3 Pro are nearly identical, save for the addition of active noise cancellation, which is reserved for the more expensive model. However, when compared to Apple’s second-generation long-stemmed AirPods, the new AirPods deliver noticeably better audio with improved bass.

Q4: Is it possible to use AirPods with Android?

Apple AirPods are compatible with Android devices, so the answer is yes. AirPods’ wireless connectivity isn’t powered by specialised technology, as many people believe. Standard Bluetooth technology is used in these devices, like most other mobile devices. As a result, you’ll be able to use your AirPods with any Android device that supports Bluetooth.

Q5: What do you think about wireless earbuds like the Apple AirPods?

Here’s how and why. Apple’s AirPods are losing favour among millennials, and this could be cause for concern for the company. Headphones with a simple, wired design are preferred by these users. That’s right, celebrities like Lily-Rose Depp and Bella Hadid have resurrected retro accessories.
