Different Ways to Hide Apps on iPhone

how to hide apps on iphone

How to hide apps on iPhone? While you can’t entirely conceal apps on an iPhone, you can make them more difficult to locate. Hiding apps will also save up space on your home screen, allowing you to avoid seeing apps you don’t use very often. You can conceal apps from your iPhone’s home screen, Siri suggestions, and your App Store purchase history in a variety of ways.

Folders are a great way to hide apps on your iPhone.

How to hide apps on iPhone?

This method works for all types of apps, both built-in and downloaded. For example, let’s say that you want to download GPS tracking software on someone’s phone and hide it from them. To make this spy app for iPhone undetectable, you would just need to perform the steps below.

The simplest approach to conceal an app on your iPhone is to create a new folder on your Home Screen. To do so, hold down any app and select Edit Home Screen, then drag the app over to another app. After that, open the folder and drag the programme into a new folder window.

On your iPhone, go to the Home Screen. You can accomplish this on previous iPhones by pushing the Home button at the bottom of the screen. You’ll need to quickly slide up from the bottom of your screen on an iPhone X or newer. Then select any app by tapping and holding it. When the app starts to bounce or a pop-up menu opens, you can let go. Select Edit Home Screen after that.

Then, using your finger, drag one app on top of another. This will add the two apps to a new folder on your iPhone’s Home Screen. You can add other apps to the folder by dragging them on top of it. You can also change the name of the folder by tapping the name above it and typing in a new one.

After that, open the folder and drag the programme into a new folder window. You can do so by dragging the programme to the folder’s right side. This will open a new folder window where you can hide your programme by dragging it into it. Finally, press the Done button. This can be found in the upper-right corner of your screen.

While this method is useful for hiding apps on your Home Screen, you can also use it to entirely uninstall them.

What Is the Best Way to Hide Apps? Making Use of the App Library

To use the App Library to hide apps on your iPhone, go to the Home Screen and tap and hold the app you wish to hide. Then, from the pop-up menu, choose Remove App. To hide the programme from your App Library, tap Remove from Home Screen.

Note that these instructions will only work if you have iOS 14 or later installed. Check out our step-by-step instructions here to learn how to upgrade your iPhone.

Finally, select Remove from Home Screen from the drop-down menu. Your app will be removed from the home screen, but it will still be available in the App Library, which can be accessed by sliding left on your home screen. Then use the search box at the top of the App Library screen to find any hidden apps.

Tap and hold an app to return it to your Home Screen, then select Add to Home Screen. You can also drag an app from the search results to your Home Screen at any moment by tapping and holding it.

Note

that the App Library will display all of your iPhone’s apps, thus this is the maximum you can hide one app.

While putting an app to the App Library is a smart approach to hide it, blocking it from your iPhone’s search results makes it even more difficult to locate. Here’s how to do it:
