Which Characters Are Included in Octopath Traveler 2?

Octopath Traveler 2

Square Enix and Acquire are making the upcoming role-playing video game Octopath Traveler II, and Square Enix will release it. It is the sequel to Octopath Traveler (2018) and the third game in the series after the prequel mobile game Octopath Traveler: Champions of the Continent (2020), but it has a new cast of characters and a different setting from the previous games. It will be available everywhere on February 24, 2023, for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Windows. It will be the first Octopath game for PlayStation.

Octopath Traveler II

Like its predecessor, Octopath Traveler 2 will have eight main characters, each with their own skills, jobs, stories, and paths. The game will also get new features, like the ability to play as two different characters at the same time and more save slots. One of the most interesting places to go in the game is the tavern, which is full of merchants, travelers, and other characters.

You can find the tavern in different towns all over Solistia. There, you can explore, do side quests, and even buy things to help you on your journey. Many players want to know about the properties of the taverns and other parts of the game. So, we’ve put together a guide with everything you need to know about Octopath Traveler 2.

Story of Octopath Traveller II

Even though Octopath Traveler II follows the stories of eight different characters, it is different from the first game because it follows eight new characters in a new place. It takes place in the world of Solistia, which looks more like it came from the late 1800s or early 1900s than the mediaeval world of the last game.

Agnea is a dancer, Partitio is a trader, Hikari is a fighter, Osvald is a scholar, Throné is a thief, Temenos is a priest, Castti is a pharmacist, and Ochette is a hunter. Usually, a character’s job has something to do with their main goal.

Agnea, a dancer, wants to become a world-famous performer, and Partitio, a merchant, wants to make money and end poverty. Hikari’s story is about how, after being haunted by past battles, he tries to get back home.

Osvald wants to get even with a man who hurt him and ruined his life. Throné is looking for a way to be free. Castti and Temenos are each looking for themselves and the truth in their own ways. The characters’ stories are more linked than they were in the last game.

Gameplay of Octopath Traveller II

Octopath Traveler 2 has turn-based battles, a huge world map, path actions for each character, and a lot of side quests, just like the first game. If you haven’t played the first game, battles happen in turns, but there’s a twist called the Break & Boost system.

Each turn, each character gets one Boost point, which they can use to do more than one thing. At the same time, enemies have a shield gauge that goes down when you hit them with attacks that are weak against them.

When that gauge is empty, they will be in a “Break” state where they can’t do anything for a few turns. Fighting will be the same in Octopath Traveler 2 as it was in the first game, but each character will also have a talent and a secret power that affects battle.

For example, the “Business Partners” skill of the merchant Partitio can help you in battle depending on who you’ve hired. One of his hidden skills, “Hoot and Holler,” can heal a party member right away.

Path actions, on the other hand, are skills that are unique to each character and can be used for many different things, such as picking pockets or challenging NPCs to a duel. This time, each character will have two different path actions that are linked to the new day/night cycle. Square Enix has told us what Hikari, Agnrea, Partitio, and Osvald will do on their paths so far.

Hikari can have duels with NPCs during the day, which can help him learn new skills he can use in battle. At night, he can pay off NPCs to learn things and get into places. “Allure” is what Agnea’s Path Action is during the day. You can use this to get NPCs to fight with you and help you. At night, Agnea can use Entreat, which sometimes makes NPCs give you times.

Purchase is Partitio’s path action as a merchant. This lets him buy stuff from NPCs, but he needs money to do so. At night, his path action changes to “Hire,” so Partitio can pay money to bring other NPCs into battle with him.

Osvald, on the other hand, can use Srcutinize to get information from NPCs, but if he fails, his reputation in town will go down. At night, his path action changes to “Mug,” which lets him fight people to steal things and money from them.

In addition to all the new path actions and the usual exploring, Octopath Traveler 2 will also have new ways to move around the world. With a canoe, players can explore rivers and other waterways. In Solistia, you can also take a ferry to get from one continent to another.

Characters of Octopath Traveller II

In the second Octopath Traveler game, there are eight main characters, each with their own story and skills. These are the people:

Hikari is a warrior. His story starts in Hinoeuma, a desert area. He is the younger prince of Ku, a country that is always at war. He worries about his people, who have suffered a lot because of all the wars. In order to bring peace to the country, he went on a search for people who shared his beliefs. “I pray for a world where there are no wars. Without shedding blood.” Hikari says.

Agnea Bristarni is the name of the next character, and she is a dancer. Her story starts in the Leaflands, a green area. Even though she works as a dancer in a tavern in a small village, she has big plans for the future. She started her journey to stardom with hope in her heart and a spring in her step. “I’m going to become a celebrity and make people happy. Just like Mama.” She says.

The third person is a merchant and goes by the name Partitio Yellowil. His story starts in the Wildlands, a huge, empty place. After seeing how the pioneer town he lived in grew and then died, he turned his attention to the horizon. With hopes of making everyone rich, he set out on a journey with nothing but the smell of business to guide him. “I’ll be back when I get rid of that evil thing called poverty,” he says.

Osvald V. Vanstein is the name of the next person, and he is a scholar. His story starts in the cold and snowy Winterlands. He was given a life sentence in prison for killing his wife and daughter. Since then, he has spent 1,879 days in a cold cell. The fire in his heart is so strong that not even the bitter cold can put it out. So, he set out to get his own back. “Harvey, the man who stole everything from me, will die by my hand. I swear it.” He says.

Temenos was in a church full of happy children. Temenos Mistral is the name of another person in the story, and he is a cleric. His story starts in the Crestlands, a mountainous area. Even though his job as Inquisitor is pretty laid-back, everything changes the day a terrible thing happens in the church. He knew that there was more to the event than meets the eye, so he set out to figure out what happened. “Oh, no! Well, I guess we can’t do anything about it. “After all, I’m good at doubting,” he says.

The next person is a thief. Her name is Throné Anguis. Her story starts in the Brightlands, in an exciting city. She is part of a group of thieves called the Blacksnakes, which runs the city from the shadows. It is her job to steal and to clean. She set out on a journey to find the keys to her freedom and get out of the cycle of killing. “Not again… Not this awful smell.” She says, “Every time I breathe it in, it feels like my lungs are rotting. It smells like blood.”

Ochette is the seventh person, and she is a hunter. Her story starts with her and the other beastlings on the island of Toto’haha. Even though she had problems with the people who lived on the island, she lived a carefree life. That is, until she heard about the Night of the Scarlet Moon, a terrible event that was coming. She set sail in search of people who could help her save her home. “Okay, Master Juvah. I’ll do it. I’ll find and bring back those Creatures of Legend.” She says.

Castti Florenz is the last person in the story, and she is an apothecary. Her story starts in a Harborlands port town. She was found adrift at sea, and when she woke up, she couldn’t remember her own name. Her satchel and her skills as an apothecary are the only things that point to who she is. She couldn’t ignore the feeling that kept coming back, so she went on a journey to find what she had lost. “I need to find out who I am again. And…one there’s more thing.” She says, “There’s something important I’ve forgotten.”
