If you mess up on one social network, you have to pay to fix it. But now, the Instagram Threads app lets you change your posts for free. Threads is even better or faster than X, which used to be called Twitter since it lets you post voice messages. Meta, the company that owns both Instagram and Threads, is run by Mark Zuckerberg.

He just now said that these two features will be available to everyone. This is how they work. The official Threads account told users about the new feature on October 12, 2023.  You do not need to pay to read and edit posts, just like on X (what used to be Twitter). Remember that you can edit your posts at any time.

You also couldn’t edit the pictures on a post or add new ones. But all you can do is edit the post’s text. When you edit something in a Threads post, it doesn’t show that you edited it or show a history of the changes that have been made. This is not the same as how the edit feature on X works.

How to Edit Your Posts on Threads?

When you’re done writing a Threads post, tap the three dots in the top right corner. Click this in the new Edit menu that appears. After making changes, click “Post” to save them. You have five minutes to make editing to a Threads post before you can delete it. If you don’t see this option yet, let the Threads app update. You might have to wait a little longer if it still doesn’t show up.

If you want to edit something you wrote down, do these things:

  • Open the important post in Threads. Either the website or the app for your phone will work because they both have an icon that lets you change things.
  • Click on the three dots next to the time at the top of the post.
  • Press “Edit.”
  • After making the changes you want, click “Post.”

This button can be set to a timer to see how long you have to edit something in a post. After five minutes, you won’t be able to edit the post anymore. You can only hide the number of likes, delete the post, or choose who can respond.

Voice posts are now possible, which is something Threads needs to be an X-killer. When Threads first came out, you couldn’t do a lot of things. It has many new features now, like the Threads web platform.

Voice messages can now be posted on Threads too. The new Post button is between the heart and eye icons near the bottom of the screen. To do this, press it. There is a voice-shaped icon below the text box. Threads will be able to use your mic if you press this button. Then say something. If Threads can figure out what you mean, it will write it down for you so you can add it to your post.

It won’t be able to type in your voice message if it can’t understand your language or accent. You can still post the voice note to Threads even if it’s not typed. There isn’t an easy way to save voice messages from other Threads users right now. On the other hand, getting photos and videos from Threads is simple on both iPhone and Android.

Conclusion

Some say that Threads doesn’t show you a list of all the changes that were made to a post. A mark will be at the top of the post to let you know if it has been changed. In a Facebook post, the CEO of the company, Mark Zuckerberg, told everyone about the button that lets you change things on Threads.

What did he talk about besides that? It’s possible to add a sound clip to a post with Voice Threads. It’s still not live for everyone yet, though. People who used Twitter could change what they had written almost sixteen years after the site first opened.

Meta did let people edit Threads though, a little more than a year after the game first came out. Meta does a much better job than Twitter, but Twitter can still teach Meta something. The people who owned Twitter couldn’t find any other site that gave them ideas. Threads still seem to be going in the right direction.
