How to Clear History in Vivaldi Browser? What is Vivaldi 3.5 Update?

Let’s check how to manage the Vivaldi browser’s cache and private data and how to delete them. Like other web browsers, Vivaldi saves your browsing history, download history, cached files, cookies, form data, passwords, and other information about plugins and apps when you use the Internet. This information will be saved on your computer. To protect your privacy, you should often delete your private information and browsing history. If you clear the cache, you can also fix some problems with browsing. Follow the steps below to clear the cache and history of your Vivaldi browser.

What is Vivaldi Browser?

Vivaldi is a free, cross-platform web browser made by Tatsuki Tomita and Jon Stephenson von Tetzchner, who was also the co-founder and CEO of Opera Software. On April 6, 2016, Vivaldi was released for real. Even though it is for everyone, it is mostly for technically savvy people and former Opera users who were upset when Opera switched from the Presto layout engine to a Chromium-based browser and lost many of its most popular features.

Even though it is also based on Chromium, Vivaldi wants to make its own changes to bring back the features of the Presto-based Opera. On September 6, 2019, Vivaldi released a beta version for Android mobile, and on April 22, 2020, the full version came out. As of September 2021, more than 2.3 million people use Vivaldi.

Vivaldi started out as a website for online communities to replace My Opera, which Opera Software shut down in March 2014. Jon Stephenson von Tetzchner didn’t like this decision because he thought that this community had helped make the Opera web browser what it was.

Tetzchner then started the Vivaldi Community, which is an online community with a discussion forum, a blogging service, and many other useful web services for registered users. This was done to make up for the fact that My Opera had closed.

Then, on January 27, 2015, Vivaldi Technologies released the first technical preview of the Vivaldi web browser. One of the people who made it said that the name comes from the Italian composer Antonio Vivaldi, whose name is easy for people all over the world to remember and understand.

Vivaldi’s New Update Allows You to Clear Your History and Caches

Vivaldi, a Chromium-based browser with more ways to customise it, has a new update for Android that focuses on making privacy better. When you close Vivaldi 3.5, you can clear your browsing history. This is one of its best features. When a user closes their browser, they can now choose what information stays there. The update lets users get rid of:

1. Search History

Clears the history and suggestions in the Address Bar.

2. Cookies and Site Data

With this, users can log out of most sites.

3. Cached Images and Files

Empties the cache.

4. Close Open Tabs

Closes all the unused open tabs in the background.

These things are turned off by default. But it’s easy to turn on. Just go to Settings > Privacy > Clear session browsing data when you leave. The company says that the feature not only makes browsing more private, but also speeds up browsing as a whole.

WebRTC, which stands for Web Real-time Communication, is also protected against leaks in Vivaldi 3.5 for Android. Users can now turn off WebRTC broadcast IP, which will stop websites from getting your IP address when you use a VPN. Vivaldi says that turning off the feature could affect how well WebRTC-based apps work and how well they work with other sites. Still, Vivaldi wanted to give users a choice.

Lastly, Vivaldi 3.5 for Android lets users organize their bookmarks and notes in more ways. Users can now sort notes by their title, the date they were made, or even what’s in them. You can also move notes with your hands.

There are the same options for sorting bookmarks, and they can be kept in sync no matter where you use Vivaldi. This year, Vivaldi for Android has gotten a lot of new features, like an update in September that made the address and tab bars customizable and added full-page blocking. Vivaldi 3.5 is now available for Android.
