Sony is reportedly working on camera-centric 4.6-inch smartphones

Sony is apparently working on two new smartphones. Even though the company’s smartphone business is not completely in profit, but a new entry on GFXBench has tipped two upcoming smartphones by the maker. These two devices are dubbed as Sony F3216 and F3311. The names look more like model numbers than actual device names.

Alleged specifications for Sony F3216 and F3311

As per the report, the Sony F3216 will sport a 4.6-inch 1080p display, a 16MP front-facing camera, 21MP rear camera with LED flash. It will come powered by a MediaTek MT6755 octa-core Helio P10 chipset clocked at 1.9 GHz paired with Mali-T860 GPU. The prototype of the device was spotted running Android 6.0 Marshmallow. These specifications hint that the F3216 might actually be the Xperia C6, which was leaked a few month ago. However, the display size mentioned in the leak does not match our assumptions for the Xperia C6.

The other smartphone mentioned in the benchmark listing is the Sony F3311. It looks more like a lower-end device with a 4.6-inch 720p display, a 5MP front snapper, 13 MP rear camera, and 1.5GB of RAM. It will feature 16GB of internal storage and run Android 6.0 Marshmallow. It will come powered by MediaTek MT6735 quad-core Cortex-A53 processor clocked at 1.3 GHz with Mali-T720 GPU.

To conclude, these are just benchmark listings so we should take the aforementioned information with a pinch of salt. Stay tuned with us for more info regarding these forthcoming smartphones.
